Important information about the nature and limitations of the Dating IQ assessment.

Last updated: 14 March 2026

Not a Substitute for Professional Advice

Dating IQ is an educational self-assessment tool. It is not a clinical instrument, psychological evaluation, or professional therapeutic service. Nothing in your report constitutes medical, psychological, or relationship counselling advice. If you are experiencing significant distress in your relationships or mental health, please seek support from a qualified professional.

1. Nature of the Assessment

The Dating IQ quiz is a self-report psychometric instrument grounded in established frameworks from relationship psychology, including Bowlby and Ainsworth's attachment theory, Gottman's research on relationship stability, and Goleman's emotional intelligence model. The assessment is designed to provide meaningful, research-informed insight into your relationship patterns and tendencies.

However, no self-report instrument can capture the full complexity of a person's psychological profile. Your score reflects your self-perception at a single point in time, based on the answers you provide. It is not an objective measurement of your relationship ability, worth, or potential.

2. Accuracy and Reliability

We have made reasonable efforts to design the assessment in line with established psychometric principles, including the use of reverse-scored items to reduce response bias. Nevertheless, Dating IQ has not been formally validated through peer-reviewed clinical trials and should not be treated as a validated clinical scale.

The accuracy of your results depends significantly on the honesty and self-awareness with which you answer the questions. Results may vary across different sittings of the same quiz, particularly during periods of emotional stress or significant life change.

3. LLM-Generated Report Content

The premium full report includes insights generated by a large language model (LLM) based on your quiz scores and response patterns. While the LLM is prompted using scientifically grounded frameworks and the output is designed to be personalised and coaching-focused, it is generated by an automated system and has not been reviewed by a human psychologist or therapist.

LLM-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies, generalisations, or suggestions that are not appropriate for your specific circumstances. You should exercise your own judgement when applying any recommendation from your report. If any content in your report causes distress or concern, please consult a qualified mental health professional.

4. No Therapeutic Relationship

Use of Dating IQ does not create a therapeutic, counselling, or professional relationship of any kind between you and Dating IQ or its operators. The Service is not a crisis resource. If you are in immediate distress or danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline in your country.

5. Third-Party Research References

Dating IQ references published research findings from third-party academics and institutions (including Gottman Institute research, Bowlby's attachment theory, and Goleman's emotional intelligence work). These references are provided for context and credibility. Dating IQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the researchers, institutions, or publications referenced on the platform.

6. Availability of the Service

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, free from errors, or uninterrupted.
